Searchin for a Radiator

well i was driving from home back to school and i stopped at a gas station and noticed steam coming from the bay. popped the hood and coolant was all over hte front of the engine. took a look a saw that it was bubbling from like a 1.5 inch section on the top of hte radiator (where the round top and the rest of it meet up). filled hte radiator back up, duct taped it (it was all i had) and kept going. the car kept getting too hot tho (the temp would rise to the top over and over) so i ended up having to pull over every so often to refill then keep driving at 50mph. nothing like having a 13 yr old radiator finally die...

well basically what i'm wondering is what a good price on a radiator is or where to buy one. i'd like an aluminum one but those are really costy. i've found some on eBay for just under 75 shipped, regular ones that i believe have the metal top. is that a good price, or should i look in town. and would it just be better to get an aluminum one (koyo, fluidyne, etc)?

Re: Searchin for a Radiator

im probally gonna be in the market for one too actually, i had a crack on the plastic top of mine as well, i put high temp/high pressure appoxy on it but it still came through in a fine mist, and i just put some kinda powder in it to stop leaks too, but i dont think that helped much either, my shit dosent over heat though just need to fill it up once a week hehe. but anyways let me know what you find out and what you decide to get, and what you think of it.

Re: Searchin for a Radiator

well i bought one online tonite, but i kinda wish i woulda gotten it at Advance Auto Parts. the online one has a lifetime, and i believe hte Advance one would too. Only problem, with the online one I have to ship it back if it goes bad, with Advance I just had to drive over there in another car. The thing the online one has over the Advance tho is that its about 60 bucks cheaper shipped
