electrical diagram for radiator front fan

Hello,
yesterday my TS 3800 1992 was heating too much, I looked at the sensor the electrical relay and the fan . When i put an electrical wire in the plug of the sensor to make a contact , the relay makes a clic and stop , if I do the contact again it clicks and stops again but nothing more. Is there another system in the electrical circuit that cuts the relay?

Strange problems that I want to fix as soon as possible , because in Paris the circulation is difficult and the engine heats too much.

Thank you for your help

Paul

Re: electrical diagram for radiator front fan

THis is the diagram www.avigex.ca/xport/fandiagram.jpg
Jiggling with the sensors is no good idea. THis is no switch: it informs the computer of engine temperature and the computer turns the fan relays ON or Off. Feeding 12V to sensor is a no-no; grounding the computer side of the sensor is like a very high temp..may be too high and computer will see an error, possibly explaining what you describe.
Waiting for the real source of the problem, I would instead install a switch to ground the low side of the relay coil: no danger to either computer or relay or sensors.

EH...Paul...I was driving a Renault camping car through Paris in 1993 when the thermostatic fan switch stopped working and the needle started going up in the Montmartre area. Happily, even in vacation, I carry some emergency gear...like a few wires and the like, so I bypassed the switch. THe fan pulled so much current from the alternator that it hampered the acceleration on the open road so I finished the trip through Britany and back to England wiring the fan in and out depending of driving conditions....

Re: electrical diagram for radiator front fan

hello again

It is difficult for me to understand the diagram

I see many sensors ,relays , coolant pusher? coolant puller? request! input !
and so on......but i cannot see the direct way from the T° sensor to the relay.
P101 is it a caoutchouc made to pass wires in the car?
Are the Coolant pusher/puller fan control in the computer?
Is ECT on the engine
Is the big Fan the pusher or the puller?
Thank you for your help

Re: electrical diagram for radiator front fan

and yes the ECTsensor is on the engine, near the thermostat housing...i'll check.
