'92 eclipse gsx -digital tuning (.com) sells a datalogger and I need to know if it has a knock sensor in it or if I must buy that seperately. Is a palm pilot m105 good enough for this application? Anyone bought from digitaltuning.com? Thanks

The knock sensor is actually part of the car, not the logger. For the 90-94 cars, the pocketlogger CAN read the knock sensor. For 95-99 the OBDII loggers CANNOT read the knock sensor. But you can still get an idea of what knock is by looking at the resulting ignition timing advance... For your 92, you are all set, and can see knock. The M105 is the low end model correct? If so I use that one with no trouble, cost me ~100 bucks a few years ago. I think they're like 40 bucks now. Even with very small ammount of memory (2MB?) there is room for hundreds of logs...

I am unclear on whether or not I need to purchase the Hotsync cable for the palm pilot. It sounds like the palm pilot will come with what I need, but it is unclear. Thanks in advance...

the palm pilot should come with the hotsync cable, well mine did. I have the M105, the cable is what hooks it up to the computer

Now that I think of it, I beleive I have the M100, the lowest model. Anyway.. The lower end units come with the hotsync cable, which is good. The higher end units come with the hotsync "cradle." Thats bad. It just isnt well suited to the auto environment, and often dissconects casuing you to not get the log you need.
