loss of power, datalogger

I read the thread about IC's and fuel cut. Recently I have rebuilt the engine in my 92 gsx and also the turbo. Before that was done the car had symptoms that sounds like fuel cut, but it was MUCH quicker until it hit fuel cut. Now I have all rebuilt parts and it is slower. The mechanic said the engine was trashed, had gotten hot and warped parts. But a 'trashed' set up used to hold me back in the seat. WTF? Where did my power go? Since then I have put a K&N, porting, 3 inch exhaust. I have a boost controller that has not yet been installed. I bought a data logger but it didn't come with instructions and I don't know what the hell I am doing! It looks cooler than shit though. I need an explanation for the loss of power after I installed performance parts and a direction on the data logger. Thanks in advance!

I am currently 1500 miles away from home and do not have many of my tools or contacts. The engine has over 2000 miles on it I changed the oil after 20 min., 100 miles, and 500 miles. Then I went on a 1500 mile trip. The engine burned about a quart of oil on the trip. I didn't want to put so many miles on the engine at the approx. same rpm but I didn't have much of a choice. Have my piston rings now 'set' or whatever that term is? GSXRacer- I do not know what my compression is. All I could figure out was that maybe the 1st turbo was bad and was boosting way too much psi for my set up and fried the rings on the motor. Seems kind of far-fetched though. That could explain why both the turbo and engine went bad at the same time. I would however think that the point of fuel cut is to stop things like this from happening. Also on the datalogger I need to find the air fuel ratio. My stylus is lost so I only have one screen and I look like an idiot trying to press the little buttons. Anyway the screen that is displayed doesn't seem to have the air fuel ratio. It could be on there but I would think it would be marked AFR. Where do I find this screen and where should the air fuel ratio be at? I also installed an act 2600. The power loss seems to mostly be on the launch. I do not think that my car has a real problem now, but that it did before and somehow this was giving me more horsepower. I cannot however come up with any reasonable explanation for this.

GSXRacer- I appreciate you not posting brainless comments like some people like to do.
