Re: 12" sub.....?

hmmmm...don't know too much about home stereo amplifiers, but if it has RCA connections and power, ground, turn-on connections just like a car stereo amplifier does it should work.

You'd better make sure the voltages match up. Anything that plugs into an outlet uses 110v cars are only 12v. So you'd probably need to change the amp, but otherwise it should work.

It depends what kind of sound you want, personally, I would never go bigger than a 12. Infinity makes good subs, as well as Kicker, Alpine. You really need to listen to something to judge for yourself what brand and size of sub you need. I personally have an Audiobahn 10, I like the way it sounds, and I got it new and cheap off e-bay. I have it hooked up to a 1600w 4 channel amp (gain is turned down so I dont blow it), that amp came from ebay, new with instructions and everything for $40.

Re: 12" sub.....?

lol, yeah well to do that you need to get a fairly large dc to ac converter to hook the power up then the home things only have 1 rca input

if you ahve 400 to spend and want the very best possiblel setup then email me and ill show you some sttuff off ebay you can get, like a dual 2 ohm punch hx2 12 fosgate with a 500a2 with wires thats 750 bucks retail for around 250 plus bx an wires is like 1-150, hit me up at hammerdgolfer on aim,

p.s. dont buy a 1600 watt amp for 40 bucks, guess what? its shit

Re: 12" sub.....?

I really like the Alpine Type-R subs. If you save up another $200, you can go to www.thewholesalematrix.com and get two 12" Alpine Type-R Dual 2 ohm subs and an Alpine MRV-M500 amp to power them for like $598 or something like that. I have two friend's with this setup and I will also be getting it when I get my Subby and I just love it
