Re: might buy a 240
if you want to start out with 5 speed, i suggest you look at a 5 speed. also, milage isn't really a big concern with 240s (chains rock!), but beware of its previous mantainences. if the usual tune up isn't done on that baby, you're up for a hole in your wallet. to be honest, 240s do last a long time but if there's a slight mantainence lag it's literally over for you. hondas break down regardless haha so it's pretty routine for them to get their cars repaired (note the low cost parts). if you're really aiming for a 240 with a low budget, try going for one that you know in particular. if that's not possible(which is usually true), seriously have a car god check out the 240 you plan on buying. about modding, it's not the same if you mod a good engine versus a shitty one. pretty common sense right there. if you're thinking of a motor swap, think of the backup motor you will have (many don't have any because they want to sell or something and end up buying another one). if you take this car up as a project car, i have no complaints. however, if this is your future daily car, i bet you're gonna sign yourself off to requent trips to the repair shop. just my opinion... i obviously gotta see that car to say anything else... haha
damn you're an okee though... pretty urban out there, so choose your fate man lol. i dont want to ruin anything for you. KEEP ON LOOKING! it took me a little over 6 months for my baby. a 1996 Nissan 240sx SE for only $5000, auto(please understand that it's a luxury hehe)and with 94k miles =) i'll post my car sometime it's really nice! |

Re: might buy a 240
^^ hes right if you want stick get stick. the whole conversion is a hassle.
believe me, when i got my 1st s14 it was a b*tch to convert. dont believe when people say its cheap, cause its not, expect to pay upwards of $1,500 if youre not including an engine swap or something. its worth it though, auto sucks, i felt like i was wasting my s14 when it was auto, the day it was stick, i saw the light.
