Angry '00 4Runner check engine light is on

Hello Everyone!
I have a 2000 4Runner Limited with the "Check Engine" on and is solid. After surfing the net a bit, I am reading there is a way to retrieve a code possibly telling me what the problem is. Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what to do. Where is this mysterious box that I have to "jump" in order to retrieve the codes. I looked in & near the fuse box under the hood which is where one site inidicated with a color picture but there is nothing there to be jumped. Is in a different place on a 2000 model 4Runner?? Please help!!

Thanks

Vaul

Just take the car to a mechanic - CHECK YOUR ENGINE! They'll tell ya what the problem is and they can also shut off this light easily.
