I need some help deciding what to sell my '79 RX7 for. In the three years I've owned her I have replaced the clutch, carburator, manifold and brakes. She was hit by some idiot who crunched her passenger side fender and head lamp. Then a hit and run driver hit her just right and ripped off the bumper. Besides that she doesn't have any other damage. She looks like shit because of those incidents, but if someone had the money to repair the fender, head lamp and bumper and give her a paint job she'd look mighty fine once again.
I've been in love with this car since the moment I bought her, but I don't have the money to keep her in good running condition. Can someone give me any information as to what I should ask when I try to sell her? I posted her picture in the vehicle photographs and the members galleries. Just search for my user name (candicembaker) and she'll pop right up. Last edited by candicembaker; 11-13-2003 at 06:08 PM. |

Unfortunately, the 1st gens dont command much of a premium at this time, and given the fact that yours has damage, I wouldnt be looking for much more then 1k for it. And I dont think you will even get that. Sorry to hear about your accident!

I'm not positive, but I think there's about 170k on a new engine.

Re: How much should I sell my '79 RX7 for?
NADA Guides Suggests:
$850, $1600, $2100, the better the condition the lower the price. So you could expect something less than or equal to $1000. If you were able to check the compression of the motor, and prove it was good you could use that as a positive selling point.
