There are some people who live by superchargers and some who only like turbos.
Very generally speaking a turbo puts out more CFM in the higher rpm ranges, but has turbo lag.
A supercharger is generally used with low boost but it has no "lag", and usually a lower output temperature.

If your going for a very high performance upgrade, Id suggest a turbo system. If you plan on boosting 1 bar (14.7 psi) or more its hard to find a supercharger that is effective in those ranges.
However if you just want to add some kick to your car, and only plan to boost less than a bar (like alot of people) then a supercharger would have to be my vote, becuase it has no (very little) lag and you can get better low end power from it.

There are comprimises for each situation, but it depends on where you are going with it. Nor am I saying that superchargers don't exist in high performace situations, I'm just saying that a typical one isn't made for it. If your looking for 1000hp from your s2000 I wouldn't recommend a super, at least not an "off the shelf" system.

Theres no "1 bar limit" either, its just an arbitrary number all superchargers and turbos are different.

Just like in your last post, shut your mouth if you have no clue what you're talking about. The only blower kits for S2000's right now are centrifugal blowers. The Vortech/paxton/comptech blowers are centrifugal. If you have a centrifugal blower pullied for 8 pounds of boost, it will make 8 pounds of boost on an S2000 @ 9000 RPM's. At 4500 RPM's where you can easily be making full boost out of a turbo, you might be making 2 or 3 pounds of boost. "lag" is much worse with a centrifugal than a turbo, hell with a turbo just downshift another gear, instant full boost. You can do that with a centrifugal to get more boost out of it, but it still won't give you full, instant boost at low RPM's. Not to mention the extra stress a supercharger puts on the front snout of the crankshaft, and since the blower is taking power from the crank to make power, you make less power per pound of boost. So in short, if you want an easy bolt on kit, go supercharger.. If you want more power, more torque, and more upgradability go turbo.

Goto www.superchargersonline.com or almost any other place that has a reputation, they'll all say basically the same thing... The supercharger sites are a little partisan as the turbo sites are too.

You could be little less flamy boosted.

I agree 100% BTW what is lag??? with the right matched torque converter and turbo you will have no lag. Also just like he said A supercharger will lower your base HP. If you do so to a turbo setup INTERCOOL IT!!!!! not only is it a performance upgrage it is like insurance for your engine. You can never have too much intercooling.

Turbo All The Way. We Turbo Charged A S2k Earlier This Year, The Car Turned Out Great!!!!!!! The Turbo Makes Power Earlier In The Rpm Range And Has A Better Hp And Torque Curves. Don't Worry About Peak Hp. It Is The Dyno Graph #'s That Really Tell You About A Car's Performance. Call Me Or Pm Me For More Info. Klr 865-688-8552 Knoxville, Tn
