I have had new brakes, drive axles and bearing installed on my 1994 pathfinder. The front end squeeks at low speeds (10-30mph) after having about 5k miles on the brakes.
The squeek is not always there but seems to start after driving for a while is residential area's.When it starts it doesn't go away. When I step on the brakes slowly, the squeek doesn't seem to go away. When I step on the brakes hard it does. I have had the car back to the shop 5 times to correct this problem. They have removed, inspected and re-packed the bearings and have looked for any type of rubbing. The have put different types of anti-squeel compund on the pads. The only thing I could think of was cheap brakes. I asked them to replace the brake pads. they did. The problem is still there and I can't seem to get rid of it.. The shop is frustrated as much as I am.. Any suggestions?? JOE? |

Re: Squeeking brakes
Did you replace the rotors as well? If not check to see if they are glazed . Really shine and smooth .. If so there is you squeaking. My truck does the same and after i wash it they stop for a while and it comes back ... You may want to have them resurfaced...
