1977 Olds Toro

Hey!

I am fairly new to this forum. Been trolling a while. I had a question to ask the experts. I have a 1977 Olds Toro. The "Brake" warning light came on yesterday and I have to push down just a little further on the brakes to make them engage. There seems to be nothing out of the ordinary other than that. Also, I recently detached the parking brake line (I need to get a new assembly). Any ideas why the light would come on?

Re: 1977 Olds Toro

I'm sure that car has rear disc brakes ? With the light problem have someone hold the parking brake release while you pull on the cable end you disconnected see if the light goes out. As far as the low pedal you may have to much clearence between the pads and the rotor. You should get the cables fixed and use them every time you park that's what adjusts the rear brakes.
