Stock speaker sizes for a 03 Civic Si

Anybody know what the sizes are for the front and rear speakers?

If you goto www.crutchfield.com and goto the "what fits my car?" area, it will tell you what diameter of speakers will fit, it just doesn't tell you the depth available. And just in general, you should look at how deep of front speakers you can have, I have had some problems with Honda's (especially my 2000 dx) having really shallow holes.

I've been to crutchfield before but the speakers listed weren't EZ fit, so that discouraged me from buying them.

The diameter is probably the same, but im sure they arent EZ fit because of the depth. The non ez fit ones you probably have to cut off the bottom of the speaker basket on the door panel (if done right, you never see it, but it is a pain in the ass).

I'd STRONGLY recommend doing whatever you need to do to measure the holes for yourself.

Something else just poped into my mind about why those might not fit. I know that 02 civic EX's need a special adapter thing because the factory speakers have a plastic plate that makes them a funny shape, so you need an adapter plate to put aftermarket speakers in. But that is on the 02, im not sure about your car.

there are speaker size charts at www.mjmautoinnovations.com/honda for all hondas and other vehicles. you can also get adapter kits their. so, you can put pretty much any speaker size in that you want.

actually you don't need the adapter for the 02 just a short peice of backstrap.WHich is a flat peice of steel with holes in it. And a few speed clips these are difficult to explain. but it's sorta like a nut that's flat.

I just pulled a set of Pioneer TS-C1653, componet speakers out of my 02 Si(rear speakers) a couple of weeks ago. I traded for a new Accord 6 speed. It was an easy installation. The factory speakers have 3 screws that hold them in place, and the Pioneer(& most aftermarket speakers) use 4 screws. I was able to use one of the factory screw holes, then just drilled the other 3 and used short metal screws to hold it in place. I placed the tweeters on the little flat spot(double sided tape) just to the outside of the rear shoulder harness retract area, by the rear of the rear windows. The passive crossovers fit nicely in the little space at the front outside edges of the rear seat bottom. These speakers sounded great. If you want a warranty, buy your speakers from an authorized dealer, such as Crutchfield. You can do better on price by searching some of the mail order houses, but they are usually not authorized dealers and the manufacturer will not honor their warranty. I found out the hard way a couple of years ago with an Alpine deck that broke!
