Talking 240z makes first kill... sorta (56k unfriendly)

Ok, I'm cruising to work down a local street. I'm in a slight hurry cause i'm hungry and mom always buys me lunch. Woot! Perks of working for family business .

Anywho, cruising along at slightly higher than the speed limit. Maybe 5mph faster than the posted limit. And I come across this red Integra probably a '95 or so with black steelies all the way around.

I think nothing of it really, but I passed him up while speeding up to get up this bridge that travels over a freeway. There wasn't any traffic to speak of at the time so I just goosed the throttle and the inline 6 came to life as I went from 3rd to 4th... I guess the guy took that as invitation to come follow me or race me or something who knows.

I figured, since I knew he'd probably blow me away in any type of acceleration contest seeing as my car has about 150hp and me not being the best at driving stick yet. So... I even the odds and made him follow me onto the freeway onramp. This particular on ramp has a sharp right hand turn, then followed by a sweeping left and back into a tight right hand turn onto the freeway itself.

My opponant follows me on, I down shift into 3rd and keep the revs around 3500rpm as I slow for the first turn cause it really is sharp, once I entered the corner the Integra was filling up my rearview mirror I gunned the gas and held on for dear life as the Z does what it does best... it proceeded to carve the corner like it was on rails.

At the entrance of the next turn, the left hand sweeper I was turning around 5900rpm a nice sweet spot for my motor. Take the turn slightly wide at the entrance cut towards the apex, then hold on again while the G's slid me against the seat. Finally the last turn, I take faster than I probably should have but the Z once again amazed me and took it with out a single bark of the tires.

I started to merge over onto the freeway, up into 4th and started cooking up the pavement moving up at about 75-80mph... I looked into the rear view mirror and the Integra was maybe 6-7 car lengths behind me just getting onto the freeway.

Satisfied, I got off the next exit and doubled back to work in time for lunch. Woot!

Ok, Somebody asked for pictures... so here you guys go.

Nice going! Of course, I don't doubt a 240Z would beat most integras in a straight line anyways... Remember, for every GS-R, there are 20 LS's

A good sports car race is just like having sex with a beautiful woman.

No, seriously. I'm not making some allegory here. Racing with sports cars and sex with a beautiful woman are the same damn feeling.

Seriously.....

I miss my girlfriend.

Nice car! Good story. Nice job taking him in the turns. Anyone can go fast in a straight line.

I love the old Z Redneck. Reminds me I still want to drop a small block V-8 in one.
