Z/28 VS Eclipse

Last night (friday) at about 1130ish raced an eclipse on 290. I was in the middle lane he was in the left, we started off goin same speed and then he gassed it..i have a 96 6speed Z/28 and i followed suit. I will say his car is pretty quick...however i was 1/2 car length ahead of him..then 1 car length..then 2...then 3..then 5..then 7 so on and so on until i realized the race was over because it was clear that i won. The top speed i hit was 133-135. So i slowed down to let him catch up so i could give him a wave or a thumbs up...cause i think if its a clean race (the opponent doesnt start the race by sayin he'll blow you away or talks shit about your car) then the winner should be cool about it...because it is just for fun..a lot of fun. So anyway i slow down to let him catch up and theres smoke coming from his engine...he pulls into the break down lane and i pull in front of him...i wanted to make sure they had a cell phone or somthin if they needed one..cause i have one. So he pops his hood and smoke flows out. I saw he has a v6 twin turbo..i asked him what year it is and he answered either 97 or 99...i was caught up in the moment. Anyway, I feel bad for the kid...he seemed to be about my age (21) and he seemed pissed..obviously, but was kind of smiling about it in the kind of "what the fuck am i gonna do" ...i just blew my engine
I guess i feel bad cause im sure he loves his car just as much as I love mine...it was clean inside and out, so that at least shows he takes care of it. poor kid

i dunno if it was an eclipse...i think it was a 3000GT VR4 or a Stealth TT...if u have seen a Twin Turbo Eclipse, u r one luck guy to see that. If the eclipse did have twin turbo, i would understand y u won, cuz i have Never seen a eclipse twin-turbocharged, and i kno a eclipse cant take twin turbo power...nice race tho..

The eclipse is a single turbo setup (4g63 engine designation). If it was a twin turbo, it was either the Stealth R/T Twin Turbo (A P.O.S. I use to have the pleasure of owning for 2 months, and losing $8K on), or a 3000 GTVR4 (Same car actually, just different body). In any event, nice kill. The AWD models are the ones to look out for from a dig. Those engines are extremely easy to modify (Read Import Tunwhere they coereced over 100 whp off of a little over $1000 in mods, and no N20).

like they said twin turbo doesn't exist in eclipse's, but the new eclipses do have a v6 so i can understand where you got the v6 from. but if its 99 like he said then its a 4 cylinder single turbo, but still quick.
and by the way whether it was a vr4 or eclipse, nice kill

This is weird..I must be wrong in sayin it was an eclipse, but it was def. mitsubishi..and it def. said V6 twin turbo on the engine. Get back to me I think some of the people above are right in sayin it was a 3000 GT
