lifting my tundra

I have an 03 tundra trd and want to lift it to get larger tires installed. Is adding leaf spring a good way to get the rear higher? Any help is appreciated. Also have seen spacer kits claiming to raise the front 2.5 inches.

If your truck is a 4x4 a 2.5" spacer will probably tear up your CV boots, a 2" spacer may tear them up. www.Wheelersoffroad.com has coils that are stiffer to lift the front, thats my plan. If you hava a 4x2 eye over www.tundrasolutions.com
Most people do Add a Leafs in the rear.

hi,new member here! I lifted my 2000 tundra using 2.5 spacers and add a leafs (short leaf) from Summit Racing.I definately got 2.5 inches from it! The front spacers required compressing the coils to insert the spacer,take it to a shop! The short leafs went on the bottom of the spring pack,not a big deal.It did stiffen the ride considerably! Although not uncomfortably.Definately put on quality rear shocks to handle the increased spring rate and ride height.I used skyjacker nitro shocks.You wont be able to dampen the front any since you use the stock struts.If I lift my 2004 Tundra double cab I will definately use the Fox Racing Shocks front struts because the valving is adjustable.I drove the 2000 tundra 1.5 years lifted with no c.v. boot problems.Thats moderate offroad and extensive onroad fourwheel drive use,I live in snow country(Lake Tahoe).I traded it in for the 04 double cab tundra! After 5 years and no problems im a Toyota loyalist! Hope the info can help you!

hey... i've had my 03 tundra for about a year now, and was considering lifting it as well. the only problem is that they don't make bodylifts for 03 toyota tundras yet. they only supply rear lifts, which is $600 for a 3" rear bodylift.... total rape! so to cool me off on the bodylift that i believe will never come, i decided to install a spacer lift. i installed a 2.5" spacer that i purchase online at my high school auto shop. i must say it was fairly easy, and on top of that made my truck look a tab bit pre runner. all though my truck is actually higher in the front, at first glance it just looks level, which is a lot better then the low front stock tundra.

now the information i have just given out about the 3" bodylift may be incorrect, and if so please tell me. i am eager to purchase a bodylift all around, but am still waiting for one to be created.

Hello there. I have for sale a complete Donahoe lift for the tundra. Front coilovers, rear full leaf packs by deaver, Bilstein 5100 series shocks for the rear and all necessary instructions and hardward (u bolts etc) are included. The kit has been mounted but never driven on for demo purposes. I'm asking $1,000 dollars OBO for a package that costs $1,800 + off the shelf. I'm probally going to lift my front end of my 05 double cab to balance it out. 2.5" is what the bushings raise the front, correct? I thought I had seen something where some of them only raise the front 1.5". Anyway anyone know where I can get these, summet sells the 2.5".

So I lifted my 03 Tundra with a 2.5 spacer kit maybe 12000 miles ago. Now both inside boots are trashed. The dealer, of course, says, no warranty work unless I drop it back down. Then he will do it at no cost. Of couse I want to keep the lift. Will I be looking at doing these boots every year? What else can I do to help the life expectancy of the boots while keeping the lift. One 4x4 shop person says that I should get way more milage without problems and that this was just a bad deal that both went out so early... For the record, not much off road with this truck (yet), lots of snow driving in 4-Hi.

Advice, Suggestions, Experiences ? Alternatives?

Hi...I'm new to AF. I am seriously considering buying a 2005 Tundra (4X4), with the hopes of lifting it. Are there any lift kits available? I've searched Performance Products and TRD but I think the catalogs don't include 2005 products yet- I also signed on as a "member" to Tundra Solutions to inquire about this (or view pics & vids of member's trucks that might be lifted) but I don't pay so I can't post . Thanks in advance for any help provided!

A longer coil or a spacer has the exact same effect on the CV boots.

It all depends on what size tires you want to put on. I put The Daystart 2 1/2" lift kit on my '01 Tundra and I can probably get 18'' no problems. That kit comes with an extra leaf spring. If you want to get something like 33's on the truck then I would suggest at least a 4 1/2 lift kit wether it be a body or suspension kit.
