lean fuel at top of second gear

hi, i've been modding my sister's 95 gsx automatic for a little while now and i stumbled across a problem. air/fuel goes lean during WOT at the top of second gear and continues to be lean through 3rd and up. the mods at the time were intake filter, upper IC pipe, 1g BOV, MSD 8mm plug wires, ngk iridium plugs, and removal of the restrictor in the boost control solenoid. there aren't any drastic changes in boost pressure during this problem. the air/fuel and boost gauges are both autometer. i thought that maybe the fuel pump was maxing out so i installed a 255 lph fuel pump and it didnt fix the problem. maybe im losing fuel pressure somehow but then why would it start going lean at the top of second? there aren't any boost leaks either (mitsu dealer checked it when my dad had them replace the air con compressor). i would greatly appreciate any thoughts on this problem and please guys, no shiet talkin on automatics, its my sister's car.

Ho do you know its going lean, just from the blinky light guage? Those cant be trusted unless you have already datalogged to figure out which lights are "bad." Your best bet is to datalog and check for knock, or more accurately, timing since its a 2g. If there is anyone in your area that has a pocketlogger you could borrow that would be ideal. It costs about 300 to get into one yourself. Another option is to spend 100 bucks on a dyno pull if you have an AWD dyno, just for the sake of getting the WB graph. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I'm not convinced you actually have a problem. With your mods you should be getting the stock AF ratio, and from the factory its very rich. You should be fine. If you do any further testing, be sure to post the results.

Re: lean fuel at top of second gear

thanx for the input. i guess i don't really know if it is going lean or not. im kind of confused as to why a lot of people buy a air/fuel gauge and end up not trusting it after they get a datalogger tho. i will try to find a shop in town that has a awd dyno. thanx again and i'll post my findings when i do some testing.
