I won't say it can't be done, but without a three million dollar research and development team with access to all of GMs designs and computers, it shouldn't be done. Since that car is a unit body construction, the roof is the main structural support. If you cut it out, the car will literally just bend in the middle and collapse on the ground. Manufacturers often don't develop convertibles because it either can't be done with the design or will cost too much to design. Those which do make it to convertible status are sometimes plagued with squeaks, rattles, dents and stress cracks, leaks, and alignment issues despite extensive bracing and additional structural panels built in. I have a BMW convertible and it isn't half the car my 96 SS is from a comfort standpoint. It rattles, leaks, and sometimes I have to slam the door to get it to shut if I'm parked crooked. Some cases (like the Camry/Solara from toyota) the Solara actually shares zero body parts with the Camry its supposed to immitate. The Camry was so hard to develop as a convertible that Toyota designed from a complete clean slate to get the Solara.

Just don't. Wait for GM to make one, and if they don't make one, you're up the creek.
