24v vr6 v.s. old 12v vr6
i would like to know if the 12v vr6 head is the same as the 24v head. i would like to put a 24v head on my 01 vr6. i would like to know if it can be done with out changing the ecu or anything else. if anybody knows let me know i think the only diffrencr is the valves per cylinder. but i dont know to much about volkswagen. thanks to who ever has the knowledge :

the 12 valve is a single head the 24 is a DOHC. if ur askin this question, i hope your not the one tha was planning on doing the swap.

no there is no way it can be done due to the difference in size of the 2 heads. the 24v head is larger than the 12v. there is no way to modify anything to make it fit either. if you want to do head swaps look into the 2.0l and under.
