Unhappy Window track problem

Hello.

I have been having a problem with my 1996 honda civic. My electric windows are acting up. i can roll the driver side down, but when it tries to come up, it acts like it is hanging up. i have to take the door panel off and realign it to make it go up. i ended up just unhooking the plug to the swicth so i dont have to accidently let it down.
my wife drives this car, and i need to fix it soon!

please help with my diagnosis.
thanks,
Phillip

Re: Window track problem

Its very common in Hondas. You wont have problems with the engine, but windows, forget it, keep em shut. Happened to me in both windows, tracks messed up and its 150 dollars to fix it.!

Re: Window track problem

I just replaced my window channels and that made all the difference in the world, plus it is a whole lot easier to change out than the regulator.

Re: Window track problem

Finally got around to fixing this. Bought new regulators from a HOnda Dealer. I only did the drivers side. It took all of 30 minutes. Very easy to do. I wish I would have changed out the motor while I was in there.

Replacing the window run channels is a good idea when replacing the reg. since almost 100% of the time it's the run channel that caused reg to go bad. As stated above spray ALL run channels with silicone at least monthly.
