496ci

you guys are flaming 72 nova (even though he is an idiot) saying there is no such thing as a 496. i hate to bust your bubbles but chevy does make a 496ci straight from the factory. they are in the new silverado HD's. but they have been around for quite some time.you take a standard 454 (4.25 bore 4.00 stroke) bore it .060 over and stroke it (4.31 bore 4.25 stroke) its not a new concept but not very well known.( like the 468 in my 23 ford t bucket, 454 bored 60 over)
and 72nova from one muscle car man to another, get a life and quit making everybody look so stupid. you are as bad as the racers that make all the nicely modded imports look bad. go wreck somebody elses forum

Re: 496ci

If you go reread the rice vs muscle thread. Go down to the 14th post. Redneck, I believe, corrects Octagon (Layla's Keeper), who I'm pretty sure is the only person who didn't think there was a 496. If you even read the post before Redneck, 72nova gives a link to place where you can get a 496 (haven't checked it and don't plan too, he said it leads there). So please, read the thread completely and see if someone already responded. At the very least, please post it in the same thread instead of starting a new one.

ok i think that is the nicest way i have ever heard somebody be an ass but FYI i did read the entire thread and why it was related to the last thread i felt obligated to start a new one for a number of reasons.
flame topics like that are boring, a waste of space, and get dry after the second comment,
after the crap people are saying in there people cant stand to read it to the end
but everybody agreed they made the 496 but everybody also agreed that chevy did not make this from the factory, which is false,
now thanks to your comment and my need to explain myslef, you have completely related the two threads and defeated the purpose of me starting a new thread.

Recipe for 12 second V6 mustang.

Take one mustang, any engine will do. Add one 94/95 Thunderbird Supercoupe V6, port, add two headers, change supercharger pulley to smaller diameter unit, install free flowing exhaust system, mix well, and bake for 12 seconds at nearest track.

Oh, tires wouldn't hurt either

My lugnut requires more torque than your LS1 makes.

Yeah, I was eyeing a 3.8 SC for my shop van, getting a little Boyd Coddington fever I'm going with a 5.0 to replace it though, since I already have the longblock.

Nobody gives the T-Bird SC enough respect, they are awesome cars, with great engines. When you take that engine and put it in a Mustang that weighs 1000lbs less, you can have some real fun

The 3.8 SC made more torque than a 5.0 HO, and at lower RPMs too. A little bit of work to get it flowing better and a supercharger overdrive, and you're well over 300hp.
