Well i just came from the movie and final result...a bit disapointed...the special effects were cool and all but too little action inside the matrix...
a bit too dramatic and they explained zip.....almost looks like they left it open for a 4th one.... it basically happened like with his predecesors he goes to the source...whatever that was...and the war ends again (of course its more of a truce) and the matrix gets reloaded... i guess it was just a bit more complicated since he refused to take the other door in the firts place plus the complication with smith....but the end result the same and how the heck is the war over...the machines are still enslaving people...its just the same cycle repeating the only thing it kind of explains is that the machines themselves are also tied into the matrix....they have probably their own network linked to it...so with the power from the matrix they get the uplink into the matrix trough those pipelines and its that how neo could mess up with the machines oh and its seems they add a human side to the machines too anyway what are your thoughs on this?

Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
I am satisfied with the ending.
There was nothing in it that totally shocked me, and nothing with which I had any mmajor reservations. They at least followed all the rules of their own universe which is all I expect from any sci-fi movie. The war is over. The humans in the martix will be free to leave, if they so choose. Or so I gathered... |

Re: Re: Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
All I can say for a movie, that was the BEST damned fighting I have ever seen!
Both the APU scene and the Smith/Neo fight. As for the philosophical aspects of the movie...I'll have to wait till I get the DVD to dissect that part of it. I kinda got lost in the visual aspect of the movie...

why would the machines allow the humans to leave the matrix...there was no talk about another power source..... also it just seems that they need the matrix for more than power though seems like its part of their own network and they allow zion to exist kind of as an escape valve or dna variasion or simply as backup is the matrix failes again... it looked like the main reason to attack zion was to force neo's hand to come to the source...as the architect told him oh and another thing...it seems that they need the anomalies for something....perhaps as new software updates or something like it.... i do agree with carnnutt the batle scenes were quite epic

Re: Re: Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
The Oracle and the Architect had an agreement. They talked about it in the end.
With all the Smiths blown up, I would assume that a majority of the humans in the Matrix got blown up along with his program. The Oracle speaks to the Architect about the remaining -- the ones that "haven't made it out yet". I would assume that she was referring to the humans that somehow were not subverted by Smith. The Architect agreed that they will be allowed to go. The child...the one that controlled the sun inside the Matrix...notice who's daughter she is: the Power-Management program's. Forgot what the mom did, but I am sure that it is also important...as the offspring of these two programs seem to have tremendous power inside the Matrix.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
Im kinda let down, but at the same time, loved a lot of things about it, if that makes any sense at all. I really liked the APU scene, had a guy in the theatre stand up and say "YEAH! TAKE THAT FUCKERS!!!!" I love opening night in late showings. Anyways, Ive actually heard speculation of a fourth one, but that's about it--speculations. If they were going to make any more, I would think they would probably do like Star Wars did and have the first three that are out actually be 4, 5, and 6, and the next ones be 1, 2, and 3. But, that's just my theory. Anyways, overall, thought it was decent, if you saw the other movies and comprehended the basic idea of them then this should explain a lot in itself.

Well, I for one, am a huge HUGE Matrix fan. I think the movie both kicked ass, and was kind of a let down. Everything kicked ass, and I mean everything, up until the end. I thought the end was seriously lacking, it needed a lot more closure, it felt like an incomplete ending. If they would have done like a 1 year later kinda thing, that probably would have made things a bit more clear. They kinda make it open for a fourth, but from all I've read there are no plans for a 4th movie or any kind of prequels. But it would be cool if they did another Animatrix thing where they showed life after the war.

its true i guess we all kind of had the same ideea that the movie was both a masterpiece and a bit of letdown.... i guess it because we expected perfection.....and i agree too....i wanted some freakin closure....even thoug there are no official plans for other matrix movies they might as well put a "To be continued" at the end

Re: Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
Sure they didn't spell out the future of that world, but they don't need to...
And yes they left it open-ended, but that doesn't necessarily mean more movies. They're probably just leaving some lee-way for the comics and anime and the rest of the franchise, just like Marc said... Now I need to play through Enter the Matrix. |

Just like the first time I saw Reloaded, I left the theater dazed and confused. Not as confused as 75% of the other people in the theater, but still rather fuzzy on some of the details. I saw half of the theories that we had discussed on the net shot down in flames, and a hundred new questions raised in a mere two hours. I can't tell you exactly what happened, but here are things as I understand them:
The truce was called as a result of Neo's defeating (or annihilating with) Smith. As for all the people who were assimilated by Smith, they are either free or dead. Note that the Indian girl (whose name eludes me) was back to normal afterwards; of course, she may have been a special case. Everyone else, so the Architect says, will be let go. So that's why the war is over. How are the machines going to survive? Uhhh... I'll get back to you on that one. So, going back to the "Matrix as Christian allegory" school of thought, the Merovingian is obviously the Devil. I didn't really see that coming. The Wachowskis must have something against the French. Anyway, my big question is, who is God? My best guess is that the machine with the face made out of Sentinels (cool effect) is supposed to be God. The credits list two people for Deus Ex Machina (a god from the machine), presumably one did the motion capture and the other the voice. This would seem to support my theory. This still leaves several characters in question, even more so than before this installment. Morpheus may be a sort of John the Baptist, but I'm not sure. I can't figure out who Trinity is supposed to be, or the Oracle, or the Architect even. Subsequent viewings will hopefully clear things up. Several months ago I came up with the "questions" theory. Basically, I said that each film is based around one central question, which is stated within the first quarter of the film, while throughout the film different answers are offered without actually showing which one is right (as least, not obviously). The question of the first film was, "What is real?" The question of the second was, "What is control?" Now, after just seeing the third, I believe that its question is "What is love?" No, I haven't been listening to the 80s station again, that's the question. My friend Cody insists that the Indian guy at the train station actually says it like that, but I'm not completely sure. The film does show several examples of love, eventually showing the ultimate expression, self-sacrifice. Very biblical. In this case, they are all right answers, but one of them is greater than the others. Still theory, mind you. I'd love to hear someone else's take on this. And so the obsession begins again...

F U C K I N G D I S A P O I N T I N G !!
2/5 stars. A total let down. A series that started off with an enormous bang has continued it's slide into eye candy oblivion. No philosophy revisitited, nothing explained properly and a namby-pamby ending (where the sun rose the wrong way ) DON'T BOTHER PEOPLE!

Re: Re: Matrix Revolutions(Spoiler warning!!!)
I found this at thelastfreecity.com:
______________________________ Well it seems Like I need to explain the whole movie, and not just the end, for some of you to understand. First of all in response to S-18. S-18, "So what happend to all the people in the Matrix that Smith took over after Neo/Machines blows them up at the end?" The people Smith took over still existed inside the new Smith clone. This is why the Smith clone that was once Sati said "all things need love", this is why the Smith clone that was once the Oracle, which is the one Neo fights in the SuperBrawl, says "every biginning has an end". And that's why Neo was able to draw power from the source and destroy Smith from the inside. When the Smiths blew up the people he took over went back to being normal. The Matrix reloaded and the people still in the pods who populate the Matrix lost all knowledge of the events and went on with life as normal. It seems that only the programs remember things after a reload. "You all said Persophone and the Mero would be explained.. Her kiss would be explained, was she a vampire or what ever.. Both characters were not explained. They just show up for a min.. Nothing more." They were explained. Mero is a trafficer of information. Persephone is an emotional vampire. Instead of sucking blood she feeds of emotions. "Kai says the Matrix loades into a "happier version" because it has a blue sky/sun. Did'nt it have that before? To keep the humans unsuspecting? So he's telling us it's ok for the humans not to be free just because the sky is blue now?" If you watch the past two Matrix films you will never see the sun or a blue sky. The happier version of the Matrix has a blue sky, and no green tint. People can now freely choose the blue or red pill. "Morpheus said "As long as it exists we will never be free." What a cop out. The Machines have no reason to stick to this lame bargin. They have the Humans right were they want them." The machines are now in debt to Neo. And now since he connected with the source, the machine mainframe, he has the power to reload the matrix and make it how he sees fit. Remember, we saw the Matrix reload, the only way for that to happen is for Neo code to be reinserted at the source. That's why the Oracle told him to go to the machine city. So he could have access to the source. Smith Explained Smith is death. He will spread through the matrix, through the machine city, and through Zion destroying all life on Earth if Neo does not stop him. When he takes over someone in the Matrix they do not die. They still exist inside of Smith. When Smith takes over someone that new clone takes on some traits of the person who was cloned over. When Smith took over the Oracle he gained her sight, and could now see future events. This also gave him powers like super strength and flight. The Oracle didn't havee these powers. But she was the Mother of the Matrix. And now Smith is the mother of the Matrix. "Like what I've done with the place" This is the Matrix as Smith sees fit. He is bending the rules he is now the one in control of the Matrix. So Neo can not beat him with strength alone. This is Smith's world now. The Death of Smith The Oracle is still manipulating Neo, and he still didn't realize it until the very end. She told Neo to go to the Machine city, the source. Why, well that's where is powers come from. This connection also allows for his real world powers. In the crater the Oracle from inside the Smith clone gets a message to Neo. "Every beggining has an end." Neo now realizes that if you are taken over by Smith you live on inside him. So Neo allows himself to be taken over so he can destroy Smith from the inside like in M1. Now people see the surge of power go into Neo in the real world. The machines did not do that. Neo did that. Neo deciding to let Smith take him over was a last minute decission. It was not Neo's plan otherwise he wouldn't have fought. And since it was a last minute decission how could he have communicated it to the machines in the real world. Plus if that's all the machines had to do to kill Smith was pump him full of energy they would have taken some random person in a pod. No, the Oracle led Neo to the Machine city so he could have access to the Source, where his abilities come from, and draw all that power to destroy Smith from the inside. The Fate of Neo What happens to Neo. Well He touches the source, kills Smith, and is carted off by the Machines. The Oracle said the first time Neo did that, when he stopped the squiddies in Reloaded, he wasn't ready and it should have killed him. But this time he was ready. So when he used the power from the source to kill Smith he should have survived it. The Oracle said we would seem him again. What happened the first time Neo touched the source? His mind seperated from his body. This most likely happened a second time. Neo's mind is somewhere in the Matrix or the Machine world, and his body is left in a coma state in the real world. When they carted Neo's body off it was glowing very brightly with that Orange aura. Showing even though he was unplugged he was still connected. The same way he was at the end of Reloaded. So, Neo is not dead. Peace? Neo stopped Smith and reloaded the Matrix saving it from crashing and killing the machines and all the people still connected. This was done on one condition though, that after this there would be peace. Zion and the Matrix would still exist. And anyone who wanted to be free would be allowed to leave the Matrix. This means that one day the war could start back, or that the peace will last. The skies could be repaired, the machines could live off solar power again (meaning no more Matrix) and everyone would be happy. As an ending it promised what M1 said it would: that the discovery of the One would hail the destruction of the Matrix and the war would be over. Well, the Matrix as we know it is gone, and the war is over. Oh, and as a side note the previose ones before Neo did not do this. That is pretty clear by Colonel Sanders...I mean the Architect and the Oracle's talk at the end. ______________________________ This explains the movie very well, methinks.
