Angry What the heck is rattling in the doors when I close them ???

Newbie owner of 1999 K1500 LS. My only complaing ... all the doors "rattle" when you close them. They also do it on larger bumps in the road. I'm guessing it has something to do with the window rails ??? The hinges seem ok, and door look like they're all aligned ok. Anyone else have any ideas besides opening her up and taking a look ??? Thanks room, CH!

Don't most domestic cars make that sound? I don't think you need to worry

Uh .... No ???

Just wondering what it is. Some common problems have common fixes, just trying to figure out if this is one of them.

In regards to the door rattles;
you start hearing a noise when the ribets that hold the module to lock and unlock your doors start to become loose. They lossen after time from locking and unlocking so often. Just remove your door panels and drill out the old ribets and with a ribet tool install new ribets.

Sorry I should have been RIVETS.
A Rivet need to be install with a rivet gun..(like pliers but it hold the rivets)you can find them at your local harware store for less than 20.00 with lots of rivets. Practice with one first so you know how it works.
If you can change your oil you can install new rivets.

I have a 99 LS 4x4 that was doing the same thing, especially with the drivers door. The outside drivers door handle cracked this winter so I had to pull the inside panel to replace it. I ended up replacing all the plunger style inner panel clips when I put it back to gether. I noticed afterwards that the rattle had disappeared. I suspect the panel clips had loosened up with wear. They cost about a buck a piece and it took ten to replace all the clips on the drivers door. Well worth it in my book.
