Honda People.

Honda People. Ugh. God, would hurt them to answer a question, without acting like what you've just asked is the stupidest thing they've ever heard?
Or not be so uptight? They're the least fun type of automotive people to be around, even the Nissan folks are more fun to hang out with and talk to.

Not about to stereotype though, not all Honda owners are dorks, the motorcycle owners are usually good people, but the car owners are composed mainly of nerds with a "I know it all" attitude - and send off, like, majorly bad vibes, ya know - for sure.

I've been hating everything lately though, think I'll go mail some letterbombs now.

In NZ it seems to be rotor fans. Well, not the true ones, just the ones who don't know a fucking thing. Observe:

Man jacks up his Evo III to change a flat tyre. Dumbass walks past : "This wouldn't have happened if you bought a rotor!"
Man replies "Oh yeah, that's right, cause rotors don't have tyres, eh?"

Guy stands behind girl in line at Mcdees. Girl is wearing Rotary top. Guy asks her, "So, what's better, a Wankel or a Rotary?"
"A Rotary, of course!"

MORONS!!

Anything you say is simply answered with "GET A ROTA!" or "PUT A ROTARY IN IT!!" Then there's a the people who own one and have a bad attitude about it, and think they are the law and rule all around them. See: www.badrotor.co.nz forums.

Don't get me wrong, I love rotors, and I love the true fans and enthusiasts. It's just the self important twats I can't stand.

BTW Steel is cool ... And Dayna...and....

I have found the US DSM community to be very supportive.

Well, thanks for the backwards compliment there 2sb,I had never bought by marque until I met some of the really neat Skyline people on this forum.Of course, the fact that it was a really nice car at a bargain price helped, but I'm the first to admit that I was influenced by the choices of friends, and the choices of a few 'road clowns' at work.By the way, before you get too set in your ways about bracketing owner traits by the choice of car that they drive, how is a cheap Eastern-European tank owner generally characterised?Do you wear a pocket protector and purple crimplene flares? Is your hair skilfully plastered into a combover,or worse,a cheap wig?Are you over 50 and vote for a fringe party?I doubt it,but it's a common enough stereotype.

Re: Honda People.

well if u have seen any recent post of mine u can tell i don like honda owners that much at all

I have only met one level headed honda owner an that was at a car show in october...he owned a 9 sec CRX...it was quick

Anyway most honda owners are dumb useless little fucks that wanna feel special because they went out and bought a car they saw on fast and the furious or some other stupid movie

I like talkin to people that have Chevys mostly....ive met some cool Saturn owners and some cool Dodge owners as of late at car shows

Online Personalization

The average Honda client is an individual that is value conscious, educated, family oriented and not image driven. For Honda, they have successfully created an interactive component of their website that draws their key demographic segment. The average visitor to Honda.com is between 25-49, 60% are married, there is a 50/50 gender split, and an average family income of $45,000[6]. Because this is also the target demographic in their overall vehicle sales, it seems that the Web site has successfully honed in on the needs of these individuals.

When an individual visits Honda.com, their experience clearly compliments the simple, no frills personality of the core Honda purchasing demographic. Honda’s primary approach to product information is to highlight its attributes and assume that the customer is able to differentiate the Honda product from those if its competitors based on quality, engineering, dependability, and the overall value driven mission of the company[7]. While Honda does have a very high rate of repeat customers, this approach did little to market the product to new customers and they still primarily depend on traditional advertising as the primary tool to attract new customers. This is why Honda was one of the last major automotive manufacturers to support a fully functional Web component to their company[8].

Once Honda.com became established and Honda’s corporate headquarters was made aware of the design of competitor Web sites, Rubin Postaer and Associates (Honda’s Advertising Agency) established a stronger focus on the personalization of the Web site. The Web site was always assumed to be a simple tool that would funnel interested consumers to the dealerships for purchase. Even the dealership links were minimal in design and overall information. The interactive team realized this was not successful in securing new customers and developed a more personalized strategy[9]. While each vehicle’s information was there, the new approach was to present it to the shopper in a compelling way. Honda used customer data from its dealerships to create a Web site with general personalization. This included specific links to safety, engineering, and overall specifications often demanded by the typical tech savvy, high quality concerned Honda shopper.

Honda still maintained its position as a company averse to gathering extensive information on their clients or potential customers. The Web site solicits only e-mail and name information to ensure that the experience of every potential shopper is safe, secure, and unimposing. From this perspective it is rather difficult to achieve an extensively personal shopping experience. The Honda approach clearly infringes on many aspects of the personalization dynamic. However, the ability to satisfy the security and privacy of their clients and Web site visitors seems to have worked successfully so far for Honda.
