Engine Swap Info
Hi,
I just recently purchased a 1989 Honda Civic Hatchback (non-SI) with the D15B6 motor. I bought it for $750.00 with clean interior and exterior. The only problem it has is a bad head gasket which causes white smoke to come out of my tailpipe. That's ok because I bought it with the intention of swapping the motor anyway. I want to put a D16Y8 or D16Z6 in it but I don't know where to get a complete package. I found one website that looked good called JDMHondaParts.com but they only carry B, H, & K series engine packages. You probably wondering why I would want a D16 instead of a B16, B18, etc. I want to put a D16 because: 1. It fits my budget better than the others 2. There's good aftermarket support including turbo and superchargers 3. Ease of installation which will bring down the cost of having it put in Does anybody know where I can find D16Y8/Z6 engine packages in Northern California and shops that install them. Please let me know. |
