Masks..

I need to know some companies or where to buy masks.. What kind of masks?
Anyone have pictures? Examples? That'd be nice.
And do the masks doctors wear work?
AND! Where I can buy one in Canada, Quebec.

Masks? You mean like the ones people wear while painting/sanding?

Well I do belive you are talking about those paper masks, I dont no if any of these masks work, but you should be able to find all kinds of masks at Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Any hardware store, just ask them for a mask.

You can use those paper masks while doing body work and stuff like that but when painting you need a good mask.. Go to any paint store that sell auto paint and get one.. They run like 20-30 bucks for one.. They have charcol filters in them and keep all the bad stuff out.. ALso after you open it store it in an airtight container to make it last longer.. I store mine in a coffee can to make it smell good.. Also if you want you can get one online from harbor freight tools.. LAter Rick S

Those type of masks filter out particles but no vapors or fumes. What you need is a respirator.

I use the 7000 series, left side middle row, $30 or so at Home Depot or Lowes. It has replacable filter cartridges and works great!

Re: Re: Masks..

Nope, those masks are not for painting. I use them when sanding, but for painting I use a respirator. 3M 6000 something respirator, $26 at Home Depot. If you build a lot, like most on AF, it's a necessity.

I am wondering, because I am aware that most of you use airbrush, but I only use paintbrush I don't think I'll be using airbrush TOO soon, maybe once I set up a corner in my garage. I am trying to filter out the bad stuff from Tamiya Acrylic Paints. Is it the same?

Dag65.. Are you sure that one isn't for sanding? Because I am low on and I don't want to buy the wrong thing..

The one Dag65 pointed out is for painting. Even if you don't airbrush, you still use a spray can, right? You'll definitely need it for that. And don't forget eye protection, too.

From my post in the Let's see your mug.
