DPFI TO MPFI Help please

Hey all, I am helping a friend with a dx put on an mpfi swap, and it won't start. I have double checked the wiring, it turns over, but there is no spark at the spark plugs. Any ideas? Also, he decided to use an Si engine harness, and, since the large round connector on the driver's side is different, rewired the Si harness into the DX connector. However, there is one blue wire that doesn't match up with any other wire on the DX connector, anyone know what this goes to? Everything is hooked up, including the grounds, and there is just no spark.... I would really appreciate any help you all could offer!!

Unfortunantly you can't plug the Si wire-harness into the dx's, the wiring is to different between the two, I was going to do this until I found out it is a no-no. You need to put the DX wire harness back in and re-wire it.

You could swap out the whole dash harness, but whats the point, thats waaaaaaaay too much work compared to just re-wiring. Is it a 4dr or a hatch? If it is a hatch then it might be a possibility, because the wiring harness will fit & not be cut short, but on a four door, no way no how. Too be honest with you, re-wiring is a lot easier, just make sure you take your time and soldier your connections.

Re: Re: Re: DPFI TO MPFI Help please

it is a crx, to be precise. Just for reference, what could be done to use the Si harness? I'll tell him to go hit a junkyard for a DX harness...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: DPFI TO MPFI Help please

OK, I've narrowed it down to the problem being the smaller 6-pin connector that is at the strut tower. Has anyone used the Si harness? Can anyone tell me what wires need to be swapped over to the DX harness and which ones can be pulled from the Si side of the harness? I have already pulled out the ones to the TDC/Cyl, Pos. Sensor. What others need moved? Anybody? This kid needs his car, and I would really like to be the one to get it running!

Re: DPFI TO MPFI Help please

The pin connector above the strut tower i believe needs to have the wires changed. If you just plug it in it will throw out the wrong codes.

Re: Re: DPFI TO MPFI Help please

do you know what the order should be? right now, it looks like most of the colors match up, but I don't know what to do with the ones that are totally different... Any ideas? Anybody used this before?

Re: Re: DPFI TO MPFI Help please

Yeah, I got it working fine. This is a really old thread, and the wiring is all done and it's fine. Thanks for the input, though, guys.
