hello, I just came from a long drive in my park avenue when after a short Wide open throttle, my service engine soon light came on. I got a code 41 cam sensor problem? The part is cheap, but I have heard stories where there is a magnet on the cam that could have fallen off? is this a comon problem, or does teh sensor just go bad? it is a 91 buick park avenue ultra non/supercharged. should I be worried? thanks for the help.

Re: code 41 Cam sensor problem? 91 park ave
Yank your sensor out, look into the hole with a mirror and have someone crank the engine over slowly while you are looking for the magnet.

yes i did that today and the magnet is crushed. it broke up inside. now is this a serious issue, or can it be repaired easily? do they sell just a magnet for replacement or can someone, drill out the previous one and fit in a new one? thanks. any help would be great. thanks. |
