h22a v. B18c1!! Help!!

Ok, I was ready to get a H22a but then people started saying to me that dont get it your better off with a B18c.

I cant afford the B18c5 so the choice is with the B18c1. I have a 94 civic HB and desperately need a swap. Which do you recommend. I want to use the car for daily use (cruising around) but also to race people if the opportunity comes around.

What are the advantages of each adn which do you recommend?

This will help me decide so thanks in advance!!

The b18c will be easier to get in, you won't have to buy mounts and you could buy used parts instead of having to get custom made ones. The h22a will give you a little more horsepower but then you might run into some weight issues. The h22 is a pretty heavy engine and you might need to get some good suspension up front if you go with it. But for a daily driver I think that the b18 will be hella fast, and if youv'e got the money you could turbo it in the end. Either way it will be a nice setup.

h22 if your a drag only kinda guy... you can cruise with it too with no problems.. just dont expect to succed at autox ...

if i were you i would go h22, get some good rubber up front and learn how to control the power and your good!

Well you can succeed at autox with an h22. You just have to prepare the car first like I did before droppin in the h22 motor. Things like a strong suspension, traction bar, strut bars, strong transaxles and your good to go.

well I wont strictly be drag racing, will be racing cars round my streets!

Things is it sounds like I have to spend a lot of money on the H22a swap just to get a little bit more power than the B18c1 which will probably belost due to the extra weight anyway.

Also, I have reead that modifying the H22a after the swap is difficult expecially if you want to turbo it because the engine takes up so much room most parts have to be custom made.

I think i will go for the B18c1, any places you guys recommend. And also, some places provide the engine with different parts. What parts do you think are needed (either definately or good to have).

People need to stop saying about how much power is going to be lost due to the extra weight of the engine. It doesn't weigh all that much and the h22 can pull its own weight and the weight of your car before the swap. I will put my h22 ex against any same civic with a gsr swap. No Fear there.

Oh shit man! I cant decide good things about both. I think thebest way would be too put the H22a in the front and the B18c1 in the back!

Ok I plan to turbo afterwards surely the B18c1 is beter for that?

Man...I drove a 93 Integra w/ a H22 in it and with a slipping clutch, no power streering, bad axles, and it rode surprisingly good- makes me want one in my civic. The Integra also was not modded up the ass w/ #1, A+ parts either so if it was Damn!!!... would be a truly sweet ride.
