shock air line question?
my left rear shock has what looks to be a small black plastic air line that goes to the mid point of the body of the shock. something rubbed or cut the line and it is completely severed. does anyone know what this is for and what the impact is of having it severed? this yukon is the slt autoride. thanks.

it is probably part of the auto leveling system, that buzzing noise you hear when you put the key in the start posistion is the pump putting air into the shock to level the car to adjust for any weight to control ride height. if that is the air line, that shock will not inflate and may cause the autoride system to freak out. but i'm not sure i would definately try to either patch it or have it replaced.

thanks, got it fixed at the dealer. it was an airline for the auto ride system. there is a compressor back there that feeds both rear shocks. they actually found two leaks while they were checking the obvious one.
