~$30k shoot out

A good friend of mine is in search of a new car. The budget is right around $30k(US, that is).. She's not so much in for power, but looking more for comfort, practicality, and the luxury.

So here's what we thought of so far..

1. Nissan 350z: I'm guessing the Touring Coupe would be the trim of choice because carpoint says that it's $31,690. What are the differences between the Entusiast coupe and the Touring coupe?

2. Lexus IS300. Good looks, pretty darn luxurious, 4 doors. A little down on power though... but then again, it's not too important to her. Price again from carpoint: $30,805

3. Infinity G35 Coupe: Gorgeous and oh so nice.. 2 more seats on the Z, and price of $31,550 with leather.

4. Mazda RX8: Automatic... ... Has an even lowlier 197hp... ah.. She likes how they look though. Does any one have experiecne driving one of these? This is the only car I really don't know how they feel to drive...

5. Any other recommendations?

Please help!

Re: ~$30k shoot out

I myself would go with the G35, it's got style, class, and can still kick some ass.

Personally i would definetly choose the G35 Coupe. Its a sleek, sexy might I add beatiful car. The massive power and looks is a perfect combination for this car.
You will really enjoy the G35 coupe if that's what you choose.........

Sincerly, A huge fan of the G35

If she's looking for comfort, pracitcality, and luxury, then the G35 is the clear choice out of those. The Lexus comes in a close second though.

Re: ~$30k shoot out

ditto on the G35 coupe. forget about the rx-8, overrated and weak. i've driven one, the 6 speed and not impressed whatsoever performance-wise. and just for that, not worth the price given what else you get for the same money. the 350z, while a great car in its own respect, i think its design will get old real fast, and two seats isn't very practical. is300, underpowered.

go for the G35.

Looking for luxury go for the G35. Really nice car. Tell her to test drive a few of em. The IS300 is nice too though, especially with the dealer loyalty of Lexus.

G35 Coupe in black w/the Brembos, aero package, and some nice 18 inch or 19 inch Volk's or BBS wheels

Re: Re: ~$30k shoot out

i'd take the G35, but don't count the rx-8 totally out. there are two packages one being the 197 hp and the other 250hp. no torque though but it's a hell of a handler.
I'm going to trade my maxima in for a G35 when the 280 hp sport coupes are a little less pricey. i just had to have something with the vq35 in it so i settled for the time being. i think either of the nissans is the best choice

I would have to say that I would go with:

The Evo or the STI.

The reason that I would is I want power and performance and you could get both for right around that price so that would be my other recomendation.

Or while I am over here in japan I would get a Mid-90's Skyline GT-R and ship it back for 30

i would go with the is300 also, best lookin one out of those four, and most luxurious. the performance is pretty decent.

here's some cars around that price range, cadillac cts, acura tl, honda accord, audi a4 cvt, bmw 328i, nissan altima, and maxima.

Re: ~$30k shoot out

The EVO and STi are not what I would call luxury cars, and probably not what she would be after. As another option, the BMW 325i is under $30k and has all sorts of luxury items that the STi and EVO don't. It's a bit down on power, but still a good solid car.
