Transmission compatibility

What year Civic transmissions are compatible with others?

specifically, i have a 93 DX tranny that someone wants for their 97 EX, will it work?

I'm not sure how to answer your ? but I'll do it this way. all B16 trannies will fit any B16 motor any B18 tranny will fit any B18 motor and any D16 tranny will fit any D16 motor so same goes for the D15s since a dx is a d16 and an ex is a d16 then yes it will work also this is just FYI but the EX head will fit on a DX block so if you wanted a Vtec DX then you could do that you just have to tap the oil lines for VTEC.later

Re: Transmission compatibility

yah, all d series trannies and engines can be mixed and matched, as to why he would want something with hella long gears compared to his ex tranny i don't know
