radio\ electrical problem

Hi,
This is my first posting with a question about my 1996 camaro. Occasionally my radio will cut out then come back on. At least I though it was just my radio, actually I can't use my power windows or lock at the time either.Sometimes it only stays off for 10 seconds, other times it may last 2 minutes. Any ideas on what the problem may be? Also I do know I need a window motor on the drivers' side. Could this have anything to do with it? Being a woman I hate to take it in to have the repair shop look at it with no idea of what I'm getting into.

Sounds like you might have a short, Does this happen when you are driving and hit a bump or doesn’t matter if it’s parked?
First I would check the battery terminals and make sure they are not lose.
No the power window motor shouldn’t have an affect on the radio. Both my power window motors went bad (not at the same time). They would roll down ½ way then stop, 5 min later they would respond again. I think I paid about 30.00 (each) for a new one and it was a simple job.

Re: radio\ electrical problem

I know exaclty what you are talking about, I have an 86 Iroc and had the same problem, my windows, sterio, interior light, power locks, trunk release would all go on the same circuit. It turned out I had a bad ground on my sterio....I don't know if this will apply for you but.....maybe.
