Engine swap question

Hey I have a 1992 Civic Hatchback DX. Lets say i wanna put a D16Z6 in there. When i buy like an exhaust or cold air or turbo or w/e, should I buy it for the DX or the D16Z6(Si and EX). What im really asking is do i buy parts for the motor or the chassis. Plz post b/c im sure most "n00bs" have this question too.
