Question Changing rear drums to disk

Hello, I am new to the forum. I own a 97 eclipse RS. I am trying to find out what it would take to change the rear brakes from drums to disk. With new 17 inch rims the drums don't look very good. Can you just take the parts off of a junk yard car and bolt them underneath, or do you also have to change the master cylinder and brake line?

When you paint the front calipers they look sharp, but if you paint the rear drums i think they look stupid. The disk will also perform better. My wheels show alot of the brake system.

Yeah its possible, search 2GNT.com. You have to get parts off an AWD model. Its not too hard to do.

Why off of an all wheel drive model? Doesn't the GS and up have 4 wheel disk?

Nope, only the gsx i believe since it's all wheel drive. As far as i know, no GS has rear discs, and unless it's an option, neither do the gs-t's

RS is the only one that had drums for 97. The GS, GST and GSX all have 4 wheel disk. the GS spyder had drums as well.

Thanks Talon 007. I looked at 2GNT.com and they had step by step instrucions on how to change from drums to disk. Doesn't look to difficult.
