This was my 1970 Camaro Z28. It has era correct steel rims, cowl induction hood, 70's LT1 (with holly carb and new intake), but im not sure which setup to do. I did want to leave it stock, but i now have this supercharged and intercooled new LT1. Do you think i should put it in there, or leave the way it is. And if i did run the S/C LT1, i'd have to rig up an entirley new coolant system.
Current Setup: LT1 350, Holly Carb, Edelbrock Intake, Husrt 4-speed Custom Set up (?):LT1 350, Polished intake, bigger throttle body, Vortech supercharger, Vortech inteercooler/aftercooler core, Chevrolet bow-tie valve covers; needs exhaust headers though, T56 6-Speed ![]() The car ![]() Current set up ![]() New engine

Re: Which Engine?
I dont wanna change the rims. It has the sleeper look (no stripes, chrome rims, etc) It used to be a factory drag car, it HAD 16x7 Torq Thrusts up front and 16X10 Steelies out back

Stock engine. Espescially if it's going to be a sleeper. It would look weird to have a sleeper with an enormously expensive, complex, a cutting edge engine. But a big powerful engine built on simpe power adders, then hell yeah.

Re: Which Engine?
I think that leaving it stock will be much nicer.

Leave it stock. That LT1 suits well with a car with aggressive body.

Unless you are going to re-do the Camaro as a 'pro-touring' style car, I'd leave the existing engine in the car.
BTW: Where did the blown motor come from?

I say keep the steel wheel look, but get rid of those tires.
It appears to me that they do not fit well on the wheels, and the tires have far too blocky sidewall lettering coupled with coarse, overly-defined tread. My guess is that they're the ridiculously hideous ex-MPC tires found in the AMT/Ertl 1971 Duster kit. After purchasing some high quality MRC or American SATCO rubber with Shabo dry transfer sidewall markings, it'll look a lot better. And, by the way, a Baldwin-Motion L88 style hood really does NOT say sleeper.

Go for the modern sleeper or COPO look and detail that bad boy and stick it in there

Re: Which Engine?
The front tires are from AMT's 199X Camaro Z28 Convertable. The rear tires are from AMT's 199X Corvette ZR1. The stock hood's paint chiiped off and i dont feel like repainting it, so, thats why im using the Baldwin Motion hood.
The S/C Belts and pullies i cut from a different engine, i sanded the belts so they looked flush with the stock ones. The blower is from Revell's Saleen Mustang kit, the aftercooler core is from AMT's Camaro Z28 Convertable kit (It was an extra part, from the SS kit [AMT SS & Z28 shared most parts, and the parts for both cars happened to be on the tree with the airbox])The tubes i built myself. The engine is from the AMT Camaro Z28 kit.
