I just purchased Infinity 9603i 6X9's to replace the factory speakers, but I'm running into a snag. The bottom of each speaker hits the bars that control the trunk opening and closing. I thought about putting a thin piece of plywood to "shim" them out, but I'm not sure if plywood is the best material to use? I also thought about just removing those bars for my trunk, but I think that is last resort.

you'll probably want to space them up a bit, plywood or MDF would be a good material to do it with, you may want to put a slice of dynamat on both sides to keep distorition down. Removing those bars is not the best idea, consider all other options first.

the thing is, if u space them u will have a gap where the speaker cover goes on...not too good...
infinity speakers are hard to fit into our accords...they are huge! i tried to put some infinity kappa 6x9 and i would of had to open the hole about 3 more inches and raise it...not good...
