Just got a 1997 audi
hello, new to this forum, i just bought a 1997 audi a4 1.8t but it has a lot of miles..over 100k miles. im wondering if i should fix the engine up or just ride it until it cant go anymore..should i try to make it faster?..i was told audi cant beat a civic...-_-..well thanks for reading..please respond

also..do you think audi is a good car? after 100k...it runs real~~ smooth and..i love the wake the manual feels for audi..others are so..rough..ya..please reply thanks

First off, who cares if it's faster than a civic.. If we're talking stock civic, you may lose to the SI, but you should have no problem with the ex, dx, hx, or lx.. Unless they have mods..

Mods depend on the engine and tranny.
If you got the 1.8T, you definitely have a lot more choices for mods. If you got the 2.8 12v engine then you are limited to old fashion mods like porting the intake, throttle body, exhaust headers, exhaust, etc. Also, depending on your tranny you need to make sure you clutch can handle the power increase. If you got an automatic, then you're screwed. There are lots of cosmetic upgrades to bring the look up to the 2001MY. Clear corner turn signals, projector headlights, facelift taillights, RS4 body kit, etc. |
