First off, who cares if it's faster than a civic.. If we're talking stock civic, you may lose to the SI, but you should have no problem with the ex, dx, hx, or lx.. Unless they have mods..
And there is no problem with the high miles..
Click the link in my signature and sign up at that site.. you'll find more info there.. more specific to Audi..

Mods depend on the engine and tranny.
If you got the 1.8T, you definitely have a lot more choices for mods.
If you got the 2.8 12v engine then you are limited to old fashion mods like porting the intake, throttle body, exhaust headers, exhaust, etc.

Also, depending on your tranny you need to make sure you clutch can handle the power increase. If you got an automatic, then you're screwed.

There are lots of cosmetic upgrades to bring the look up to the 2001MY. Clear corner turn signals, projector headlights, facelift taillights, RS4 body kit, etc.

100,000 miles isn't "alotta" miles in german language. And some of it has to do with how it was taken care of and what oil they used. And if the engine idles strong, pulls to redline, and doesnt make any unusual noises then dont touch the engine. By the way valve click is normal on cold starts, and should go away once warmed up.

And yes.. with $500 in a chip you will beat the si civic, integra type r, etc.
