I guess that's fine if you have a cold when you're polishing your model?

Vaporub is a vaseline based product, vaseline is one of those lovely things that seems to attract dust....
Dust is bad.....

Re: Re: Re: po' mans polish

Why not just go out and spend the $7, and you'll be able to polish about like 15-20 cars, and make them look really nice.

I have a large bottle of Novus #2 plastic polish that I bought years ago and have polished well over a hundred paint jobs. The bottle cost about $6.

Vicks Vaporub? Um NO. The smell alone would make me puke.

Yeah, sometimes when I run out of Tamiya stuff, I just use my dad's Meguires, then when I get some Tamiya again, I use that and so on. Wax is not that expensive, and it lasts a long time.

Re: Re: po' mans polish

Wow, if you can use vicks vapor rub then it figures you can use honey as well... maybe just add a little lemon for shine. You could also use spa grade mud and give it a full body scrub.

All these three things are MUCH better than using Tamiya's compound and wax. I mean Tamiya's stuff wasn't meant for hobby use; while Vicks, honey (w/ lemon), and Spa grade mud were.
