Problem with my transmisson?

i went into the dealership the other day and wanted to get warrenty work done on my car.after they kept my car for an extra 5 hours and they actually did nothing (except a balance, which i was paying for), they told me that it wasn't worth it to take apart the whole tranny. my problem is that sometimes the transmission is hard to get into only first and reverse. and i am holding down the clutch all he way. They tried to say that the floormats are in the way and not allowing the clutch to press all the way down but that is bunch of crap. way are they trying to go aroung doing the work for me? Does anyone have any suggestions about what may be wrong with my transmission? Thanks.
