Making of - Nastro Azzurro Honda NSR 500 (* Progress Pics* )

I’ve been working on this one for some weeks.

This is the first time I’m building a motorcycle so be gentle with me
Body is painted with TS-26, TS-16 and MS-5 (Metallic Gray) that took me ages to find. It seams that Tamiya took this one out of production.
Some lines are not so good because some of the paint went under the mask but since the colour transaction will be cover with decals this is no serious problem.
I’m currently working on the engine so more news soon.

They sure are, I’m really enjoying building this one and I’m sure I will not just stay for this one.
Here is the current status.

Engine and the rear section are almost completed. I will now start to work in the front fork and try to find some good reference photos of the effects of the heat in the exhausts so I can replicate them.
More news to come.

Looking great so far!! Its nice that Tamiya includes all the wiring and all the little extras even a tiny little screwdriver...

I like the chain a lot... I used PE chain set on mine.

There are a number of photoetch upgrade parts sets for these bikes as well.. may be next one will be a superdetaileed Duc 996>>>????

Time for some new update.

All the internal work is finally done.
First the conclusion of the front session. I had some problems fixing the front fork because I have not understand clearly the instructions.

And finally the conclusion of all the wiring and the exhausts.
Burned effect was made using the application of several diluted colours.
That’s a beautiful work Steve. Hope I can do such a great job with the decals as you did.
Just one question, you didn’t applied the Michelin decals on the tires?

Looks excellent Nuno
Your weathering skills are phenomenal, hopefully I can one day achieve your level.

BTW, don't the Michelin decals only go on one side of the tyres? I may be wrong though....

Progress is coming along very nicely, I always forget something on a build and this time it seems to be those
