yea i think the 2001 models are the bomb... they looked a lil more sportier in the 1998-2000 models, but now it looks a lil more luxurious..... i think hyundai is trying to get rid of its old reputation and change it up with elegance and quality..... the 2001 will lok phat wit hooked up..... cuz i like the lighting on it..... betta than the new civics (cuz they ugly now) or the corollas

Enzo, you're so mean
I think that Hyundai keeps getting better and better, probably will be one of the most popular manufacturers in the future. But the cars still need to have more power to be even considered by the auto enthusiasts.

Yes, I totally agree that they're getting better. They Tiburon is a great car, but the new accent somehow reminds me of a cheap-Lancer knock-off.

a buddy got one of these (elantra)recently, and I saw and rode in it last night for first time. It's pretty nice for what it costs.
I don't think it is an enthusiasts machine, but it's a very practical car. Low fuel consumption, great warranty, and I was really surprised how roomy it was inside.
I was sittin in the front, but for me being 6'1, I was completely comfortable with the leg and head room; Though, I did not notice how cramped the back was, but that's for the kids anyway, right.
Also, sitting in the car, it felt solid, and seemes to be very good quality.
I did see the tiburon at the last Anaheim car show, and was really impressed. Again, seemed to be quality built. I think they all had 10yr/100k mile warranty.
I think Hyundai is a company to keep an eye on.
(though I seem to remember hearing something about Ford trying to gobble them up...that makes me worry about the future quality)

Hyundai--plagued with historical marketing flaws, but as they say, if you've hit rock bottom, there's no place to go except UP. Of course, this applies mainly to the States, seeing how decently they are doing internationally. I applaud them for being one of the few brave companies to send their products outside of their home turf, especially being the first export to the States from South Korea. Being the forerunner helped groove the path for the other korean automakers we see here today.

My personal interest with Hyundai (and Kia as well) sparked when they began their various rally campaigns. At first I thought of it as humerous, but now we all see that they can be an impressive contender. Good luck to them all.

I see...
Youīre Hyundai enthousiasts
I donīt like their cars exept for the Sonata and Coupe.
Has anyone noticed the dashboard and overall quality of the new Elantra to be less than any compact from Japan??
I certainly have

Well I wouldn't go as far as to say that I am a Hyundai enthusiast, (meaning, I would probably never buy one) but I am glad to see smaller automakers try to make it in this capitalistic world.

The quality is less for a reason: they are MORE affordable. Plus, don't forget they have record setting factory warantees.

Hyundai Elantra is the best-bang-for-the-buck car out there. If they want to stay competitive, they should get as close to 200hp, for the 2.0L, as they can. That would just boost their sales and would get the aftermarket off their asses with these cars.

Hyundai the new Toyota ?

I work at a Hyundai dealer (in the parts depertment) and I believe that Hyundai is a great line. I can tell you that Hyundais break much less than Hondas and cost less to maintain. (I left Honda to work at Hyundai) The buzz in the industry is that Hyundai is poised to be the new Toyota. This refers to the fact that when Toyota first came to the US it got a bad reputation and now is without a doubt the largest import nameplate.

I can't wait until Hyundai brings the other SUVs and vans to the states.
If you go to this site you can see those models

And this?
I remind you all that the Galloper is based on the old Mitsubishi Montero of the ī80, with some cosmetic changes, so you could imagine how unsafe and old fashioned it is. Just not my taste.
