Air Suspension Issue

What's up everybody,

I have a 96 Rover and I got the front and rear suspension changed in March.

I've noticed several months since that the suspension appears to take about 5-10 minutes to kick into gear. It usually requires driving for awhile before it moves up into the normal position.

As it gets colder, it seems to take a little bit longer. What's the issue? Any ideas?

I had the same problem on my RR. The EAS took longer and longer to acheive normal ride height untill it eventually would time out or the compressor would heat up and cause an EAS fault. I was on the bump stops allot. According to the shop tech, the compressor should put out 150lbs of pressure. Mine was at 100, so it had a hard time pumping up the system. Any air left when I parked was lost as the system adjusted itself leaving nothing when left for a few hours. It would have been $500 for a new compressor, so I did the coil sring conversion and have been all smiles ever since. Take a look at this thread:

That's a good kit. Wouldn't hurt to check out strutmasters.com too and maybe save a few bucks, though.

Gentlemen,

I just finished my conversion yesterday and there is no difference in the ride, I did my research and went with Strutmasters due to the price about $2 big ones less than others. Tech help was pretty good although I'm still iffy about there EAS messager override instructions.
I know they are still perfecting it however I would like the noise off immediately. Nitro Slum what else did you do besides the dashboard instructions that came with Strutmasters kit. I don't want to pay another dealer reset fee ever again if possible. Let me know what else you did to get to EAS Manual mode? Feel free to use my yahoo e-mail if you must

Hey Corry - Give Strutmasters a call and have them fax you a copy of the wiring mod instructions for the BECM (body electrical control module). It's located under the passenger seat and controls the electrical system. A couple of wires need to be cut and crossed and you can say goodbye to the EAS nag. Shouldn't take more than 15 min to complete.

Thanks for the tip and re-assuring me of how easy it is, I think they left some of the directions out of my order. Will call back and get the complete instructions. Any thing but a dealer reset. To any and all new/old RR owners Please convert to Coil Spring which will give you peace of mind (and leave more room for life's other worries).

Please give Matt or Gary a call or e-mail [email protected]. they are still working thru the EAS Message. I am eagerly awaiting the solution. Please help them out so they can fine that part of info.
