Hello,
I have a 1992 toyota 4runner and I have alot of problems playing cd's. They skip alot. I have hear that I can get a new toyota deck. Anything from 1992-2000 will fit nicely into my truck. Does anyone know anything about this, the skiping problem? And also it wasent until last night that I realized that older cd player only play 650mb cdr's(75 min) not the normal 800mb. But I guess 800mb cd werent around at the time of my truck. I would like to keep my truck looking original. Not a fan of aftermarket cdplayers. But I heard that I can fit any 1992-2000 cd/tape/am/fm toyota deck into my truck.??? THANKS! Last edited by redfox; 10-20-2003 at 03:23 PM. |

I had the same problem with my 4runner a couple of years ago. The CD player started skipping in the worst way. I replaced it with an after market one and was very unhappy with it. Not only did it not look right (original), it sounded even worse. I finally located an original CD deck, the tape/radio component above the cd player was fine at the following place:Brown's Toyota City
7167 Ritchie Highway Glen Burnie, MD 21061 (800) 848-4451 The deck was not cheap, but at least it looks and sounds as good as it used to. |

Thanks for a responce. I think I found the best way to take care of it. I want to listen to my cd's and mp3's, but I also dont want to remove the stock radio(looks nicer than after market) There is these new cd/mp3 changers that you put in the back somewhere and it connects by a FM channel (some low station). And its about the same price as a nice in-dash player.
