Tamiya Silvia K's

I went to the hobbyshop 'cause I needed Tamiya Compound to finish of my R32...THere was no Tamiya compound and I purchased the Gunze one,is that a good choice???
THe bad thing is that I saw a Tamiya Silvia K's with only 15US...I know it's not a great kit but I like the car and having already a project in mind I got it imediately...

However this wasn't a very good choice...As you can see in the pics the body is heavily damaged/twisted...also I don't think that this damage ios fixable...
First time I see soemthing like that in a Tamiya kit and I''m really disapointed...Even the Esci Porsche wasn't that bad...

I thought to post it to warn you if anyone is interested...any help would be great!!!

Re: Tamiya Silvia K's

If you got it from a hobby shop then just take it back for a refund or swap...

Hmm, i have one too.. I guess you should return to your hobby shop for a swap or refund. Mine isn't like that..

If I am not wrong, the kit is now OOP.

first sorry for my language, but WHAT THE FUCKING MODEL SHOP IS THAT??????

the shop definitely knows the car was damaged before it was sold at 15usd. FUCK HIM, take it back and fuck him.

as you saw my thread, I was cheated by the fucking ebay german seller toybox.berlin, I hate people cheating others money.

PM me if you really want the silvia K, I can sell to you. Also, I have other kits for sale, many ppl here have bought from me and are fine.

Regards,
Joe

Re: Tamiya Silvia K's

That's not Tamiya fault! If Tamiya made a kit like that it wouldn't be in the market a week!

Take it back and ask for a refund!

BTW: Here in Portugal almost every Hobby shop have their model boxes open. I know that's a bitch because someone could stole some parts but it helps you buy it to see if everything is in order. I believe that it's the importer that opens the boxes to stamp it with their mark (Importecnica)

First of all thanks for your replies!!!

The shop I got that is the official importer of Tamiya stuff in Greece and I hope that there will be no problem with swaping it for another kit or refund.About the price I believe it was low 'cause it was a cheap kit when it was released! For example most rally cars cost around 36 US but an R32 costs 20US...The 405 T16(also OOP I think...)goes at 35-36US 'cause it wasn't cheap when it was released...

I'll reply with news on the case...

P.S:Joecwlaw I read the post about the German e-bay byer and also I was thinking of getting some things from you combined with a SAS order I'll p.m. you soon...

It all comes down to the number of pieces the kit combined. The rally car's with all that detail and the abnormal number of pieces (some of them with the pilots) are the most expensive. On the other hand see the price of the Enzo. The detail + the number of pieces + the autorization of Ferrari (royalties sucks) explains the price, altough the 50€ (about 50US$) they cost here in Portugal is a robbery!

joecwlaw: expect a PM from me soon too. Just some money issues I got to settle here.

Re: Re: Tamiya Silvia K's

what a bummer. thats going to be a pain but they should compensate you with a new kit of they are a decent shop. try to get another kit instead of your money back, its a good kit and a good car.

actually, thats nothing, it does'nt look like the body is warped at all, and its just the roof, you should just be able to bend it back into place, remember, it is just plastic, and plastic can be shaped and formed very easily, I've seen alot worse, I got a Revell Ferrari Modena that had the whole front windshield frame broken off, it was just the top of the box pushing on the body for a couple years. a very easy fix, in fact, if you take it back to the hobby storem the'll prohibably just put it back on the shelf. I recommend fixing it and building it, you'll never find another one for that price.
