you can find an AE86, you just have to do a lot of searching.

Re: 20 g's

With 20k, you can do alot with the AE86, but why? It will cost you around $800 and you will have yourself the AE86, biggest piece of shit ever, about 7k will prbably be going towards making the car new again or running right, and then you can use the rest of the money on a engine swap (stock 4AGE will get you 0-60 in about....never, is it even possible? , actually you can, its just really slow). Most people go for the 4AGZE 20V, or 3SGE from an MR2, I dont have any suggestions except get away from the AE86! Just because its cheap doesnt mean its good! Go buy a Nissan 240SX SE and take it to a shop, like www.unstable-hybrids.com, and use your money to drop a RB25DET in there, you will be speeding! Inline 6 2.5L turbo, better than an AE86 dont you think!

20k....... Well...... guess what? You've got some nicer options than a dog-tired early 80's Toyota hatchback.

Shall we start with Turbo FC's, early Z32 TT's, N/A FD's, Mk III Supra Turbos, Porsche 928S4's, Jaguar XJS-12's (the 12 stands for V12), Alfa Romeo GTV6's, older air-cooled N/A Porsche 911's, Porsche 914-6's, Triumph TR6's, Triumph Spitfire GT-6's, MGB GT's (like mine), the aforementioned 240SX, Triumph Stags, Alfa Romeo Spiders, Datsun 240 through 280Z's, BMW 320i's...

Need I really go on? I think not, except to say that if you can scrape together another 10k you can buy a Ferrari Mondial Coupe.

Ahhh, Canadian.

Sorry, don't have a conversion chart on me. Probably best to talk to Cbass. He's from up there and knows the same things I know, except in Canadian.

wont the 6 liter engine upset the weight of a drift car? i remember SCC (sport compact car) did the swap and said if u wanted a neutral balanced canyon carver it wasnt the swap 4 u. drift cars need good balance too, so unless u want a supra hunting 240Sx (Sil-Line, maybe?), i dont think its a good swap. if u wanna go fast in a straight line, go 4 it, but 4 drifting, use an SR20DET, CA18, or sumthin. sumthin 4 liters is good.

Re: Re: Re: 20 g's

Something 4 cylinders? Sil-Line? What?
Anyways, you can still go RB20 or RB25, it doesnt matter, it will not upset the weight by that much because of where it sits, rammed against the firewall and prettu much centered. Why in hell would you want a L4? With all the work you are putting into swapping for the engine, you would do all of that for an L4? Waste of time...and we all know inline 4s arent known for torque or power, which is essential for "drifting"

And what if I've found a totally clean hachi-roku? How much would it cost to turn it into the popular little canyon monster that is our hero in Initial D?

The car is an 1984 SR5. Everything is in near mint condition. Runs excellently.

I need to know at least how much the engine swap would cost, and if it would be possible. I also know that I'd need to convert the rwd to a limited slip differential, since the SR5 model didn't ever come with LSD (if I'm wrong, pureasu tell me so).

Any info/input/help/pancakes are appreciated.

Oh, and if you're gonna tell me to just buy a 240SX, could you at least give me a price difference between:

-an engine swap of the 20v (or 4a-ge) into the '84 SR5

or

-an engine swap of a SR20DET into a 240SX and conversion to a Sil-Eighty?

I'm extremely serious about these two cars and would appreciate a reply.

Thanks,

Tommy D.

Re: 20 g's

are the RB20's I6's or I4's ? I wasn't very clear with this, but it sounds like a I4...

Re: 20 g's

SR20...much cheaper than a 20v swap. SR20's are pretty common swaps where I come from, and I live in Kentucky, and nothing cool ever happens in kentucky. For 15-20k Canadian, I say you look at some of the nicer newer car's Layla has mentioned.
