Re: any luck

i believe a company did successfully get a k20 in a 5th gen hatch, i'm going to have to search around for it

scratch that, it was a friend of someone i talk to on a different board, here's a pic. and it isn't photoshopped, even it kinda looks like it with the white lines and everything, i don't know what he was trying to do with the pic.

No that is the new K20a. It is in their backwards compared to the regular engines. The picture is no photoshpped, the reason they have those white spots is because the company that produced this picture was making custom mounts for the swap and they didn't want to show them yet.

Yep that is definatley a K-series motor, and it's been done quite a few times now. I can tell you just from the pic that alot of cash was spent on that. Those intake manifolds alone range from $1000 and up.

Can I ask why? Are you trying to score some show points? For the cost to drop in a K series, you could easily do a b-series and have money left over to build, turbo, sc, n20, or whatever.

its new stuff

because the k series is the new thing that going to be big. i mean its a 2.0 and its pulling more. for example the type-r. o ya by the way what do u guys think, what a 95 GSR would do up against a 03 si. The GSR only has an intake.

Your prob right about the k series being the next big thing, there isn't an unlimited supply of factory b-series. However, I can guarentee that day is a long ways away. I am just looking at it from a best bang for the buck angle, b/c I could really care less about the show/fad bs. You can start of with a good base say a b18c, and make it a hell of alot faster than even the k20 type r motor for less money. The care would be more streetable. Shit you have a 5th gen, stick with the obd1 because trust me the obd2 and obd2b can be a royal pain in the ass to tune with. As for that race, my money is on the GSR, as long at it doesn't mess up its lauch. Its more of a drivers race though.
