Latinos and import tuning

I know this is a bit random, but I have to do a project for Spanish class that focuses on some aspect of latino culture in the United States. Since I'm a car nut, I figured it'd be cool if I could tie my project in with import tuning somehow. Does anyone know where I could find information concerining latino's involvement with import tuning in the US? My only source right now is Hector from The Fast and the Furious, and I don't think that's a very credible source. I know this is a boring thread, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

ya, but don't "mexicans" run and own like half of the run down shops that have broken 1970's domestics cars in the front yard.----not to be "racial" but they must know a think or two about imported cars.

I see what you're saying, but I don't want just info on import tuning. I know that latinos know about import tuning, but I need to know how they are involved with it. By the way, "ratial" is "racial," and I doubt all latinos would enjoy being labled as mexicans. That's like calling all Americans New Yorkers or Floridians.
