I just looked at my new model that I glossed over a week ago, and I found an area where there is a drip that dried right around the door handle. Its a big drip and comes off the body about 2-3 mm. Its big enough to be a big problem on the finish.
Question is: how to fix this problem, striping the paint job is not an option. If I sand the drip down its going to fudge up the paint job because of all the sanding involved. I might be able to trim it off with a new x-acto blade and then compound and sand area, or is there a better way??? Scott

Your best bet is to do a careful wet block sanding (fine grit) of the area and try to work it down from there. Follow up with compounding.
Taking a blade to it will only leave divots in your paint.
