Red face Mom's Ride?

Okay, I see a lot of people with nice cars....

kids with bmw's, mercedes, and lexus'.... actin like they're everything!

but a lot of them too aren't really their cars... it's either their parents cars, or cars that their parents bought for them. This is fine and dandy but it does suck for us people who have to pay for our car, insurance, and our mods...

so my question is what category do you classify yourself as? are you a bill gates rich mo-fo? are you driving mama's car? are you a regular joe just trying to make ends meet? are you a kid who doesn't have rent to pay?

be honest.... we really want to know.

My parents bought my first car only so they could controll where I went and when I went there. I have always paid my own way and have bought all my cars ever since.

For my 17th b-day I came home to a brand new '99 Mazda Miata. The deal was though that I pay half. So I do. But I have to pay for all the mods that I want.

Lucky, I came home and found a 1984 Dodge Daytona. Oh well it was in great condition.

I have paid with my own money, for every car I have owned. Nothing feels better than dropping a load of cash on a car, knowing you earned it. The onlly thing my parents have bought for me, that has to do with my cars, was a starter. That was because my dad happened to be at the parts store, when I called him and asked him to pick it up for me.

hey there isn't anything wrong with driving your parents lexus. or whatever they own... as long as you treat it like it's their's cuz i treat tha car with extreme caution.... well.... i rev it when i need to and don't when i don't. so don't hate the people who's parents don't have enough money to buy them a new car or if that guy/girl don't have enough money to buy his/her own car...

Parents bought my first car (high school) in 93 a 1985 Ford Bronco XLT.
Parents bought my second car (college) in 96 a 1993 Ford Probe SE.
I finished college in 99 and they gave me the title to the Probe and said it was officially mine. I sold it for 3500 and bought myself my current car which the bank owns add I have only 2 years of payments left. BTW, I bought it off E-bay.

It's the "I'm better than you" attitude that pisses me off.

Yeah, i hate the "im better than you because my parents are rich and they bought me a better car than you, even though im a materialistic jerk" If your parents buy you a car and you show some sort of modesty about it, its all good.

I didn't buy my first car until 22. I couldn't afford to own one with a 12k a year university education.

I had to borrow my mom's car, which is an old Chevy. And I was barely able to pay for my part of the insurance on it. All my money went toward books, travel to school, and classes.

I wasn't even able to afford to drive my mom's car until my second year of university. Car insurance in Chicago sucks! Especially since my parents decided to get $100 deductible, full coverage.

The guys here who parents dropped a car into their lap are lucky. Unfortunately, I have been hit by those kids to.
