Arrow Interested in a Eclipse.

Ok well i recently wanted a 3000gt but the fact i wouldnt have the money for it dissapointed me. So i had to think of another car to get adn a Eclipse was on my mind. I like how they look. How fast csan you make these go? Whcih ones are the fastest and can get the most mods? I know a Eagle Talon is the same thing. So i might get one of them cause its cheaper. So my questions again are...

What are the diff kinds of eclipses and which one can be the fastest and take the most mods.

GSX/TsiAWD- AWD Turbo No Governor
GST/Tsi-FWD Turbo Governed 120-130

if you are interested in speed dont even look at a GS,RS,or Esi.

money is your only limit to how fast you go with these cars, there is a huge aftermarket for GSX/GST, everything you want, perfomance, suspension, interior, exterior. they are great cars and can be as fast as anything on the road with the right mods and driver. hope that helps.

I um, i gotta say that your wrong about the RS, you say it aint fast? i beat a GST Automatic in mine, and ive had mine up to 140, and it had more to give, i didnt have enough room to go more so i stoped at that point, and btw a RS can be just as fast as a GSX my own

So your opinion is more correct than his? The 2gnt or 1gnt for that matter is akin to the 00+ Eclipses. Turds. Yes there are a select few who get the RS/GS lineup to somewhat respectable times, but add up the amount of fast GSX-GST's to the RS/GS pigs of the world. So there fore, 95GSX stands correct.

If you want a cheap dsm with money to spare after the car is bought get a pre 97 eclipsegsx/gst or eagle talon tsi. Most of them come modded right outta the box. If your lookin for the 2g body style you might pay alittle more for a modded one out the box but to some looks are equally as important as speed/performance. The ones i stated are the ones i know about and can be modded pretty easily. but the first gen eclipse gsx/gst or talon tsi have better turbos from the get to compared to the 2ng gen. I have a 97 eclipse spyder gst recently in the market for a 1st gen talon 14b turbo or mitsubishis line 16g. Because ive got to the point where my stock t25 is to its limits. Thus if i were to have a 1st gen i could probably climb alittle higher with that turbo.

The only way an RS will be as fast as a GSX is to turn it into a GSX.. (adding turbo) so, no.. there is no way a n/a eclipse will be faster than a turbocharged one both with the best mods.

RS and GSX Give them the same amount of HP the RS will beat it in the 1320 and in a top speed run..... simply because the RS doesnt lose as much power thru the drive train and it is lighter... you need to study your dsm's dude and stop makeing shit up....

Re: Interested in a Eclipse.

It's funny how you're calling for ideal situations to make your race equal. It doesn't happen like that in the "REAL" world. Ideal would be stock for stock run with a STOCK RS vs a STOCK GSX. Who do you think would win? Not your economy model RS that's for sure. Even modded for modded. You can raise your compression, add all your N/A bolt on junk, I'll add an exhaust, MBC, and a K&N & mop the floor with your "Lighter & less drivetrain" bucket of bolts. You just got your new G-ride 2 1/2 months ago, I've been building these cars for the past 5 years, come back with some experience.

Dsm wheres my dude? Man your starting to bug bro. The gsx dosent loose that much drive train thru awd. A heavy duty clutch can cure most of that loss. The weight is barely even a subject. Plus the gsx moddels have WAY better handling and traction at high speeds. I wouldent want to go 140+ mph without a awd setup. I just gets plane wobbly from there. Im not bad mouthing fwd because i have one. a heavy ass spyder on 18's to be exact. My shit still fly's. Most the local boyz here know whats up. But Id take the handling + high speed grip of a awd over my fwd anytime. Even looked into putting a gsx tranny into my spyder. After my 16g + fuel upgrades $4500 will do just that!

That's paritally right, to cure AWD drivetrain loss just add more power. I certainly am not complaining about my drivetrain loss. It's amazing how many street races you can win in just 1st/2nd gear. Highway pulls aren't that hard also, I trap 112 in the 1/4 mile. A Lightening & I ran from 65-125/130 I believe, I had him for atleast a car to a car & a 1/2. So take your drivetrain loss & shove it.

People have dynoed AWD dsms in FWD mode, and the loss is only 5% more going to AWD. ITs not as big as people think. And for the 1,343,234 time, I'll mention that the AWD is geared lower to compensate. The FWD may get faster in the "top speed run," but the only way to win at the 1320 is with traction. How do you think I used to beat Vipers with a little 16g? 12.0 at 114 beats 12.3 at 120. Wrong Wheel Drive will be even worse than this RWD example. My buddies FWD 1g trapped the same 107 mph I used to get on the 14b (109 best), but I would run 12.6s to his mid 13s. 1320 feet is very short. You better get a lot done in the first 60 feet if you want to compete. FWD is not the answer.

turboawdgsx said it right. I destroy powerful cars in street races by the end of 2nd gear. Why? 2nd gear goes to 60 mph, and it takes me less than 4 seconds to get there. I'll say it again. Traction. And now having 400 whp on pump gas just makes it all the more fun. 400 whp on a FWD equals tire smoke

Sorry for the rant..

Stop smoking crack. RS (140hp) and GSX (210hp) DO NOT HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER. im not making anything up, dude
who is the one that needs to study a little more?
